Is this a real provider or a chatbot?
Medcare is designed to connect you with a real human provider by video Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM Eastern Time when available. It is not a chatbot and not text-only care.
How fast is within 10 minutes?
Within 10 minutes is a target Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM Eastern Time, not a guarantee. Availability, intake, location, and clinical appropriateness can affect timing.
What does Individual include?
Individual is $29/month and includes one live video visit per billing month for one member. The account refills to one each billing month. Extra visits are $20 each, and unused visits do not roll over.
What does Family include?
Family is $49/month and covers unlimited household members. You get four live video visits to share each month, so anyone on the plan can use them when they need care. One person can use more than one visit if needed.
Can one family member use all four visits?
Yes. The Family Plan uses one account-level counter, so all four included visits may be used by one member, or divided across members in any combination. You choose who the visit is for after starting the visit.
What happens when the Family balance reaches zero?
Extra live video visits are $20 each after the shared included balance reaches zero. At the next billing month, the account automatically refills to four. Unused visits do not roll over.
Will repeat visits by the same family member work?
Yes. A family member may use more than one included visit in the same billing month when visits remain in the shared account balance.
What medications can Medcare providers prescribe?
Medcare providers are family nurse practitioners and adult-geriatric nurse practitioners. They do not prescribe controlled psychiatric medications. Routine non-controlled medications may be considered only when legally permitted, clinically appropriate, and within the individual provider’s scope of practice. No prescription or medication is guaranteed.
Can Medcare handle emergencies?
No. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department for severe or life-threatening symptoms.
